  3. Select the type of background you want to use from the following options in the background dropdown menu:

    Solid
    Vertical Gradient
    Horizontal Gradient
    Radial Gradient

    Solid Background

    1. Choose Solid in the dropdown menu.

    2. Click on the colour picker dropdown and select a colour from the palette.

    3.  The body background colour (the colour that appears to the left and right of your web page) is updated in the preview view.

    1. Choose either Vertical or Horizontal in the dropdown menu.

    2. Pick the start and end colours for the gradient by picking colours in the From and To colour pickers.

    3. To edit the gradient, drag the slider for each colour to the left or right to define how the colours blend.

    Radial Gradient

    4. You also have the option to select the colours in your page background and to drag them to change the blend

Tip: You can use this feature to create some interesting effects: for example you could pick the colour yellow and by dragging it with your mouse create a sun effect.

    Image

    1. Choose Image in the dropdown menu.

    2. Pick a background colour for your web page (see Solid Background above).

    3. Click the Upload button and navigate to the image file on your hard drive.

Note: You should not upload a large file or one that has been saved directly from a digital camera. Large image files can take a long time to download when the page is viewed in a browser,
so you will need to reduce the file size using a utility such as Pixlr

    4. The image is inserted in the page background. Drag it with your mouse to the desired position.

  4. Click the Save Details button to save the changes to the live site.
